We do not just "throw" labs at our students and tell
them to "have at it." Our instructor presents his lecture in the
morning for 3 or so hours, and then the rest of the day students
work on labs pertaining to the material from the lecture. The
instructor works very closely with our students to make sure the
students understand the material as well as the best ways to
approach the solutions to the lab questions presented.
