Jeff Poole

CCSI

Jeff has been a Cisco instructor since 2000. He is a Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE #4298), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP), and a Cisco Certified Systems Instructor (CCSI). Jeff teaches CCNA, CCNP, and CCIE courses and specializes in teaching CCSP and Cisco security classes.

Jeff has 25 years of networking experience working for IBM. He was a branch office communications specialist working with large customers such as American Express, Citibank, Chase, Visa International, and Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. He was a network architect with the IBM Global Network and was project manager for IBM on the design and deployment of several large IP networks in both Europe and the US. Jeff graduated from the University of North Carolina and received his MBA from Columbia University.

Some comments about Jeff Poole.:

"Jeff Poole is a great instructor. I was able to communicate to him freely and the classes where a good investment. The Labs and lecture where informative and provided the education I needed to pass the CCSP."

"The class was awesome! The instructor, Jeff Poole, was very knowledgeable. The facility was nice and the people from CCPrep did everything to make the long 12 days comfortable. I definitely enjoyed it. I passed every exam!"

Steve Sowell

CCSI

Steven has been a highly regarded IT professional since 1984. His technical resume includes component level diagnostics and design; board-level field service; scalable, redundant network design and implementation. He began his professional training career in 1989 by teaching authorized Novell curriculum. In 1997 he obtained his Cisco Certified Systems Instructor designation (#97005). In 2001 he received Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert Certification #7317. Business activities include field-service profit center management, responsible for monthly P&L, cash flow, strategy & planning. Sales calls, engagement scopes, project management, and team leadership duties have been consistent themes throughout.

His current technical focus is the design & implementation of routing, switching, security, and wireless networking solutions for medium-to-very large corporations. Steven also teaches Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert/Professional, Security, & Wireless courses, and designed our quarter-million dollar advanced networking & design verification lab. Mr. Sowell has developed various instructional materials for CCPrep.com, including CCIE, CCNP, Security, Wireless, OSPF/BGP/Diagnostic and EIGRP/BGP/Diagnostic custom curriculum.  He has also authored countless Project Scopes, Business/Sales Proposals, a few configuration & troubleshooting white papers, and the Keystone Learning Video/CD-ROM title, Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks.

Some comments about Steve:
Wayne Downing - CCIE Written Bootcamp - Tampa, FL - July, 2005
"Steve, I had to get rolling out of town before you got back from the airport. I just wanted to say thanks for your efforts in this class and your patience with my redundant questions. I did pass my written. Not bad from a guy who has not been technical in roughly 4 years, and just started studying the tech side of things in the last two weeks. I would have to say that I more than likely only passed due to your instruction and bringing things together for me.  Again I appreciate your effort and mentoring!"
Thomas Polimine- CCNP Bootcamp - Tampa - June, 2005
Todd, "Sorry I did not meet you during the training session, but I wanted to relay that this was the best training experience I have been to, I have been in IT for over 10 years and have been to many different training schools, this was by far my favorite. Steve our instructor, was the best instructor I had the opportunity to learn from. Many thanks to all."
Bruce Skipper - CCNP Bootcamp - Tampa, FL - June, 2005
"Hey Steve! I wanted to personally thank you for your instruction for the CCNP bootcamp….as I've mentioned to several folks at CCPREP, your presentation is the best I've ever been exposed to and your ability to respond to questions with an answer without the proverbial "I'll see what I can find out" that a lot of wannabe or up-and-coming instructors use was unprecedented. Once again, just wanted to touch base with you and thank you for your knowledge sharing…and your work ethic which transcends your teaching skills. Take care Steve!"
Chad -  CCNP Bootcamp - Tampa, FL - July, 2005
"Steve, I want to thank you again for your efforts during the bootcamp. As a fellow instructor, I know that there is more to your side of the job than just "talking all day". Your preparedness showed constantly; from your overviews before a new topic, to your examples, and your analogies that helped break things down so they could not only be understood, but easily remembered as well. Thanks again for a job well done."

Jim Risler

CCSI
James became a Novell instructor in 1992. During the time James taught Novell classes, he amassed many Novell certifications such as a Master CNI and a Master CNE. James then went on to become one of the first instructors in the state of Florida to teach Microsoft Windows NT 3.1. From that, James transitioned into Cisco training in 1999 after passing his Cisco Certified Systems Instructor (CCSI) certification first time. After completing three years of training with one of the largest Cisco Training Partners, James joined CCPrep.com. In addition to being a multi-certified instructor, James has considerable experience working with Fortune 500 companies as a consultant in the deployment of Cisco as well as other key strategic technologies. The practical knowledge he has gained through his extensive consulting experience allows Jim to offer his students real world experience applications.  James also obtained his CCIE Certification (CCIE #15412) in January of 2006.

Some comments about Jim:
Thomas CCNA - Anchorage, AK - October 2003
"Normally instructors of seminar classes just want to throw out the information to you and if you get it good, if you don't, tough. James Risler really wants the students to understand the material. After our week long class was over he stayed to make sure a student knew the material. James is a good teacher and I hope to have him again"
Brian CCNP - Jacksonville, FL - February 2004
Thanks again for making my stay last week so enjoyable. I will definitely go forward with a better knowledge and ability to perform my job... You run a top notch Boot Camp and wish all of you well.

Anthony CCNA - Tampa, FL - April, 2008
"It was clear that Lou’s intent was not to breeze through the course, but rather that we actually understand the material."
James CCNA - Tampa, FL - April, 2008
"The instructor was very knowledgeable, and helpful. I feel confident in taking the exam when I get back home!!"

Sean Murphy
CCSI

Sean is one of the more recent additions to the CCPrep.com team, joining us in 2007 after spending 7 years with Covad Communications, a leading national broadband provider. After joining Covad in San Jose, CA as a Technical Support Engineer, he quickly learned he had a talent for helping other team members excel in their roles. This subsequently led Sean to an opportunity within the training department at Covad, spending the next 6 years playing a critical role in content development and delivery for high-profile, technical initiatives throughout the organization. He delivered hundreds of classes to both internal and external audiences around world, focusing on the national deployment of VoIP services during his last couple of years with Covad. Sean is a Certified Cisco Systems Instructor (CCSI) and currently focuses on delivery of CCNA and CCNP classes while working towards obtaining his CCIE certification.

Here are some of the feedback Sean receives from his students:

"The instructor was very good at keeping everyone on track and had a way of relating the material. Great new addition to your staff!"
"Unlike other instructors I have had at other training facilities, Sean didn’t read out of the book, but rather keyed on main points and shared real world experiences that tied in with the material to better our understanding of the concepts.,"
"Sean did a great job! One of the best instructors I’ve had the pleasure to learn from. I was very impressed with the level of expertise Sean has and his many diverse methods of relating advanced concepts to the students in an easy-to-understand manner."
"This was my first time taking a Certification Bootcamp and it was a great experience. I will highly recommend CCPrep to my supervisors, recommend that my peer be allowed to attend this class and that I am able to attend future training with CCPrep."

Rudy Koehle
CCSI

Rudy began his IT career with what was then the Burroughs Corporation working as a mainframe communications programmer supporting the US Navy. His first training assignments related to instructing the customer’s operators and systems programmers on the custom operating system and attendant utilities developed for the Navy. Assignments included an 18 month posting to Yoko Suka, Japan and 90 days in San Diego, CA where responsibilities included instructing operators and programmers. While in Japan Rudy delivered computer classes for Central Texas College at night. When Burroughs merged with Sperry to form Unisys, Rudy conducted classes for the company to train employees in the use of proprietary programming languages. While working as a systems programmer for a bank service bureau owned by EDS, Rudy was also responsible for user-training at the subscribing branch offices. Rudy spent an exciting 8 years as a senior technical instructor with Novell. One of his most rewarding assignments there was delivering NetWare 4 training to Certified Novell Instructors in Europe prior to the product’s introduction. Rudy was certified to deliver protocol analysis classes using Network General’s Sniffer. Since 1996 Rudy has work almost exclusively delivering Cisco training. He has conducted CCNA and CCNP classes throughout the US from Anchorage to Miami, as well as in Germany. Rudy is an alumni of the University of Maryland and a rabid Terrapins fan. He also bats right and throws right.

Here are some of the feedback Rudy receives from his students:

Al - CCNP - Tampa, FL - August, 2007
"CCNP Rudy is a great instructor with wonderful analogies and experiences that complimented the course. Rudy has a very good grasp of the material and knowledge base as well as the ability to teach it, job well done!!"
Stephen - CCNP - Tampa, FL - August, 2007
"Rudy did an excellent job presenting the material."
Richard - CCNA - Tampa, FL - August, 2007
"By far the best classes I’ve ever taken!! I’ve taken classes up through MCSE!!!"
